PAINTINGS - CLASSIC  1988-2010

In 1988, New England native Aphrodite, nurtured her desire to paint by joining a local art association. This led her to study oil painting with prominent artists, including New York's NA, Daniel E. Greene; Boston Massachusetts' Copley MA, Mark Hayden; and New Hampshire's Trompe-l'oeil artist, Oscar Durand. Opportunities arose that influenced a direction for Aphrodite's artwork.
By the 1990's, five of her original oil paintings of Boston sports players became showcased indefinitely at the New England Sports Museum, Boston, Massachusetts. (Sports Paintings)
In 1995, Aphrodite went on a Caribbean cruise to the Virgin Islands where she met a resident artist selling paintings at a beachside resort. She thought, "If she can paint here, so can I." (Caribbean Paintings)

By 1996, the Virgin Islands became home where she painted. Galleries represented her. Tropical surroundings inspired brilliant colors seen in much of her work. Scenes of umbrella covered fruit stands, hand painted street signs, local store fronts and flower filled alley ways became Aphrodite's signature subject matter.

PAINTINGS - AGAPE  2011-2022
In December 2010, Aphrodite unexpectedly needed an organ transplant. Preparing her mind and body for a life saving kidney became priority. Her steadfast trust, believing that anything is possible with God, was unwavering.
In July 2011, the gift of a perfectly matched kidney was received.Through the 11 year healing era, Aphrodite began to paint again. She experimented with other mediums including watercolor, batik, and acrylics which set the platform for the AGAPE collection and numbered series. (Numbered Series Paintings) (Conglomerate Paintings)

PAINTINGS - CURRENT  2023-NOW
Today, Aphrodite's signature style through its evolution remains recognizable, maintaining the unique quality in her work. She paints at her home studio, outside Plein air, and throughout her travels with friends, colleagues and mentors. (2023-Now paintings) (Commissioned Paintings)

"Though oil painting remains my most enjoyable and challenging medium , I like being adventurous trying  new things. No matter what I create, my ongoing hope is to bring joy into this world through my gifts of painting and creativity." Aphrodite
